Pax 3 vs Davinci IQ Vaporizer | Why They're The 2 Best Vapes

The DaVinci IQ is discontinued and replaced by the DaVinci IQ2 ! We do still offer some of the Davinci IQ accessories. Other Davinci vaporizers can be found here.

Today it is time for the Pax 3 vs Davinci IQ vape comparison. We're going to be talking about two new and exciting Portable Vaporizers that are about to launch on the market - the Pax 3 by Pax Labs and the IQ Vaporizer by Davinci. So lets break into the Pax 3 vs Davinci IQ vape battle.

Both Pax Labs and Davinci carry a long standing history of developing innovative products. Pax Labs first launched the original Pax vaporizer which was a global success, then to launch the Pax 2 which very quickly became the best selling portable vaporizer online.

Now Pax Labs has announced the launch of the Pax 3 which is an upgraded version of the Pax 2 with improved performance and with ability to vaporizer concentrates. Davinci meanwhile has produced some of the most iconic vaporizers in the history of the industry with the Davinci Orignal Vaporizer and the Davinci Ascent, which has been a long time favorite of mine.

The Davinci IQ is a huge technical evolution for the company and will no doubt compete as one of the most anticipated portable vaporizers to hit the market. So let's talk about each in a little more detail!

The Pax 3 Vaporizer

From what we know, the Pax 3 is roughly the same size as the Pax 2 but the majority of the upgrades are in the battery life, heat-up time, the ability for it to work with concentrates, and additional functionality available through a smart phone App. The Pax 3 has the same overall design but with higher glossed metal finishes. The Pax 3 will heat up within seconds and features an upgraded 3000 mAh battery with heat-up times up to 15 seconds.

The Pax 3 also features hepatic feedback which is an added bonus. But the most important upgrade with the Pax 3 is it's ability to work with concentrates

The biggest downside of the Pax and the Pax 2 was that they only worked with dry herbs. This new upgrade on the Pax 3 makes a huge difference and will attract a lot more people looking for the ability to vaporize both dry herbs and concentrates with one unit.

There are also a couple of new accessories along with the Pax 3 including of course the concentrate insert mentioned above as well as the addition of a second oven lid designed specifically for half-packed bowls. Another major downside of the Pax 2 having a very large chamber, and also being a conduction vaporizer, was that you needed to fully pack the chamber (which is quite large) every time in order to achieve good performance.

Several 'techniques' and after-market products evolved to allow people to pack less than a full chamber, but Pax Labs have solved this issue with the Pax 3 and include that second oven lid for that reason. Overall, the Pax 3 is a very attractive, portable and convenient vaporizer. However, it does use conduction technology for heating while most expensive and newer vaporizers feature convection heating.

Additionally the Pax 3 has a stainless steel chamber and plastic in the vapor pathway which will differentiate the flavor from a convection vaporizer or one with a ceramic heating chamber (like the Davinci IQ) - So in this case we have a vape favoring style and convenience and portability over performance.

The Davinci IQ Vaporizer

So lets talk a little more about the Davinci IQ - this is a new launch from Davinci who make the original Davinci Portable Vaporizer and the Ascent Vaporizer. The Ascent is a very stealthy and attractive vaporizer that features a ceramic heating chamber with an all-glass vapor pathway, which mean amazing flavor.

This has been a favorite of mine for several years now and we are very excited to see the launch of a new vaporizer from the company that seems to have kept with tradition but at the same time greatly improved on the technology and performance from its predecessor.

The Davinci IQ has done away with the traditional LED screen display and now features a very cool grid array of 51 tiny LED's that work to give you feedback on the units operation.

The IQ vaporizer also features an interchangeable 18650 battery which is a huge benefit in that you can swap out the batteries at any time and 18650 batteries are an industry standard available all over the internet and in shops. The new Davinci IQ also features a ceramic heating chamber (as did the original) which offers an advantage for flavor versus the Pax 3 and a Zirconium Ceramic material for the vapor pathway and mouthpiece.

Zirconium is one of the highest quality ceramics, in black with this unit with a very high heat insulation factor and strong structure. This is a very interesting addition to this vaporizer which we've not seen before and only enhance performance and flavor.

The Davinci IQ also features a smart-phone app which will allow you to access the 'Precision Temperature' control feature (instead of adjusting on-screen like the Ascent), or you can use 'Smart Path' settings to create variations of heating sequences that allow total customization of your session. The performance with the Davinci IQ is top notch due to very good temperature controls, and the ceramic/zirconium vapor pathway.

Pax 3 vs Davinci IQ Conclusion

Overall in comparing the Pax 3 Vaporizer with the Davinci IQ Vaporizer when it comes simply to the style of the unit I would give the win to the Pax 3. That is not to say that the IQ is not an amazing design, as it is but that the Pax 3 really sets the bar in terms of style. However the Davinci IQ is an insanely beautiful design but a little larger but really shines in comparison to the Pax 3 in terms of performance and flavor.

The Davinci IQ's functionality and the ceramic chamber with the IQ with the zirconium vapor pathway will set it apart in the flavor department from the Pax 3 as well. If you're after something that is sexy and stylish and performs well then the Pax 3 is probably your best bet. If your after a stylish unit that is. However in a Pax 3 vs Davinci IQ battle no one is a clear winner and both have their advantages that play to different personas.
