Dr. Dabber’s Stella Vaporizer

When the Aurora by Dr. Dabber was discontinued, some in the vaporizer industry wondered what Dr. Dabber’s team was cooking up to take its place.

A new Dr. Dabber vape pen was imminent, but what would it be like? What bells and whistles could a Dr. Dabber pen introduce?

The vape pen vaporizer phenomenon is a huge part of the vaporizer market, and when the Stella was released, it came in with features and technology that let us all know that it meant business.

This is a portable pen atomizer, to be sure, but it contains technological advances and functions that are more like the vape juggernauts of the industry, you know, those hulking devices that pack a punch but are not very portable or easy to bring with you to places.

By this, we mean that the Stella employs technology that is not common among vaporizers in this category, size, and price point. This is a modern, multi faceted, sturdy, and elegant device that is dedicated to ensuring a quality user experience.

What can you expect from the Stella Pen? Firstly, you get brand new features like pass through charging, vortex airflow, and Temperature Coefficient Resistance technology.

But we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s take a look at the Stella vape one piece at a time.

How To Use Dr. Dabber’s Stella?

1. How To Operate The Dr. Dabber Stella

The Stella Vape is a relatively simple device to use without too much of a learning curve. You do not have to study the handbook, in other words!

Before you do anything, ensure that the Stella has gotten a proper charge before you load it up with concentrates. Once you have charged the device up, go ahead and remove the magnetic mouthpiece.

You will see the heating plate at the bottom, so load your wax concentrates directly to this part. Make sure to not overdo it here. Overloading can give you bad hits and affect performance. Start with the size of a pea, maybe even a touch less.

After this, reconnect all the parts and hit the power button 5 times to turn on the vape. To choose between heat settings, you will hit the button 3 times. We will get into all the temperature presets in the next few sections, but for quick reference, they start at 460° F (preheat), then increase to 550° F, 630° F, and finally a 750° F preset at the very highest temperature.

Now that you have selected your preferred heat setting, hold down the power button and take a long, slow, but relatively gentle drag on your vape and enjoy!

2. How To Get Best Vapor Quality

For best results, you should run a preheat cycle on your Stella vape before moving forward with your selected temperature preset. This helps get the device “warmed up” after sitting idle for a little while.

Dry burns, which is the process of heating up your Stella when there is no material inside of the loading chamber, are bad for your vape. This can cause wear and tear on your Stella, and sometimes damage it, so you should only heat up your Stella when there is heat in the chamber.

Remember, atomizers for the Stella are not covered by warranty and will eventually need replacement. Follow recommended use guidelines so that you are not out spending unnecessary money on perfectly good parts!

Tasting burnt flavor, metallic flavor, or a marked decrease in vapor quality and volume is a sign that the atomizer probably needs to be replaced.

LDr. Dabber sells an excellent Stella RX Kit which has extras for all your hardware. It is probably a good idea to preempt any damage situations by buying the Stella Kit ahead of time.

3. How To Clean/Maintain It

Cleaning may be a chore, but its a chore you will need to undertake if you want any hope of your Stella remaining functional for the long haul!

Not that cleaning this vape is that difficult or tedious, that is. Just make sure you have some isopropyl alcohol to clean it, ensuring that it is a concentration of 91%-99%.

To begin, remove the mouthpiece, and then remove the airflow regulator by pushing your dab tool through the mouthpiece to dislodge it.

Put some isopropyl alcohol in a bowl or dish, enough to submerge both the mouthpiece and airflow regulator in it. 10-15 minutes is about good enough to completely sanitize these pieces. Take them out and let them fully dry.

Heat up your atomizer for a few seconds, and then take a dry cotton swab or q tip and clean the inside of the atomizer.

Next, take another cotton swab or q tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol and swab the bottom and sides of the atomizer including the walls, and be thorough. Do not be too forceful at this part.

Run another heat session and you should be good to go with a brand new, pristine Stella vape.

Quality

You can tell the Stella has been constructed with the utmost care and detail. The LED lights are vivid and bright, and the outer casing is made of black stainless steel.

While it is not the kind of powerhouse that you see with larger, brick like vaporizers that have been on the market for some time, the overall feel and quality of this vape is that of an A-list product. It is a sturdy, well constructed and durable vaporizer.

While this vaporizer does not get you the kind of fluffy luminous clouds of other vapes, it does have a reliable feel to it, and you do get great flavor as well.

Temperature settings

The temperature presets of the Stella have one unique feature, which is the preheating preset. This preset is outfitted in the color purple on the LED light screen. The preheat option is great for avoiding cold heat-ups. The preheat starts at a temperature of 460° F.

The rest of the presets are as follows: Green (LOW), at 550° F, then blue (MEDIUM) at 630° F, and finally orange (HIGH) at 750° F.

You will spend some time choosing between these presets to see which one is best for you. Lower temperatures are best for enjoying flavor, while high temperatures will sacrifice flavor for thicker vapor clouds.

Battery & Power

The Stella has a 600 mAh battery that uses a USB-C charger, meaning charging is rapid fire with the Stella.

In addition to that, you are getting introduced to Temperature Coefficient Resistance technology (TCR) with the Stella vape. What is this, you may ask?

In simple terms, the battery does not have to output a constant stream of energy to heat the Stelle device, and instead adjusts itself based on the temperature preset selected.

Users want a battery that goes the distance, along with a strong atomizer, and TCR helps that become a reality.

Vortex Airflow

Vortex Airflow on the Stella vape is another reason why flavor is so reliably good and consistent.

Air inlet grooves inside the device offset excess heat and air, giving you optimal quality flavor and quality. Both this and TCR are relatively new technologies, and you get both with the Stella

Who is the Dr. Dabber Stella for?

The Dr. Dabber Stella is for virtually anyone, with some caveats of course.

Someone who takes well to the Stella is a person who values flavor and reliability. The technologies employed in the Stella are such that you can have a portable vape pen that will not present cumbersome problems early on in the product’s life.

This pen gives users every single tool they need to succeed, so be sure to read up on best practices so that you can enjoy this vape to the fullest.

Who is the Dr. Dabber Stella not for?

Though the price point is appropriate for a vaporizer of this technological prowess, it is still more than many vape pens.

For users who are not totally picky, Stella is for me.

Staff review

At NamasteVapes, we were instantly struck by the usability of the Stella, as well as the obvious improvements made to it compared to its predecessor, the Aurora.

We think the employment of TCR technology and Vortex airflow technology are game changers for portable, pen style vaporizers. This is an easy way to develop consumer loyalty to the Dr. Dabber label.

We think the device is classy with its stainless steel exterior, and we think it is the best kind of vape pen to bring with you everywhere. It is not cheap, but you can see why when you hold it in your hand.
