A team such as Storz & Bickel have created a reputation for themselves as being the market leader in vaping technology. They pretty much invented the vaping industry as we know it. They are the best of the best and their products reflect that.
What other factors have the S&B teams faced?
The release of the Volcano Hybrid may have delayed plans for the Mighty 2, but it could also be due to the purchase of the Storz & Bickel brand by Canopy Growth Corporation. The Canadian company purchased S&B for $220 million CAD at the end of 2018 and after the takeover, S&B CEO Jürgen Bickel stated,
“Joining Canopy will enable S&B to take the next significant development step forward. Access to Canopy Growth’s extensive portfolio of test laboratories as well as pharmaceutical and medical-scientific know-how opens up entirely new product development opportunities,”
Canopy Growth Corporation are known to have a keen interest in the medicinal aspects of cannabis, known for funding clinical research and well as their compassionate pricing for medical cannabis to make it more affordable for patients in need. It potentially stands to reason that the focus from Storz & Bickel may also focus in this direction. What this means for a new Mighty vaporizer is anybody’s guess, but could factor in delays.
What changes do we expect to see?
Even though the Mighty is a heavyweight in the world of vaping, there is always room for improvement. We expect to see the newer version being slightly smaller considering the Mighty is quite a large vaporizer compared to its competition.
Other comments from users have been that the auto shut off timer needs to be adjustable because you have to constantly press the power button to prevent it from turning off. We also believe that they may improve on the already fast heating time of 30 seconds, with similar priced competition heating in around 20 seconds.
It’s hard to improve on near perfection, but the S&B team will try. We hope to see a new portable from S&B before the close of 2019 and we expect it will be mightier than ever!
