Design and features
Right out of the box, the Ghost MV1 looks great, it feels well made and although heavier than some other devices, it’s in a good way. Besides being sturdy and well manufactured it’s a distinctive looking device, and why it may not be the most discreet, it’s design is one you’ll likely want to show off. Ghost’s newest product features a glass mouthpiece for improved flavor, and this can also be removed to make the device more compact.
Updates
Improvements to this design include a smoother removal of the mouthpiece and (thankfully) zero scraping sounds like before.
Similar to other high-quality vapes, the MV1 one has an accompanying smartphone app with the latest firmware upgrades. It can also be used to select precise temperature controls, to lock down your vape, or check battery level. The basic Ghost MV1 comes in four very stylish designs; nickel, rose gold, black chrome, and satin silver - all which look pretty high quality. However, if you’re not a fan of the glossy finish you can also purchase a new matte black option.
Performance and vapor quality
Featuring a crucible dispenser means that the MV1 takes slightly longer to load, as instead of putting your dry herbs/concentrates directly into the oven, you’re loading them in the crucible first. Our advice to save some time and make your vaping experience as easy as possible, is to always have your crucibles filled beforehand. This way you also have the option to pre-load extras.
When it comes to heating, the MV1 features a true on-demand heat up time. Ranging from a cold start to ready-to-use in around 10 seconds, this vape will always be ready to go when you are. Once set up, the vapor produced is very satisfying and tasty. It’s never too hot, despite the range of high-heating settings, and the main reason for this is because of the long glass airpath keeping the vapor cool. In terms of vapor quality you certainly get what you are paying for with the MV1.
Battery life and warranty
As you can probably guess by its size, the Ghost MV1 has a great battery life. It’s one of the benefits of some of the chunkier portable devices and definitely makes up for it being a little bit on the heavy side (in our eyes, anyway). It comes with a proprietary battery that can be charged via USB or externally. And battery life should last you around 50 to 100 hits before needing recharged, the charging time is quite average at two hours.
The device comes with a two year warranty on workmanship and defects however, all consumers have the chance to extend this to seven years with registration via the smartphone app. The battery comes with a one year warranty, but it is replaceable.
What’s the verdict?
If you’re looking for a stylish and innovative device, one you can use on-the-go and are not afraid to be seen with, then you will love the Ghost MV1. It’s a little on the higher range spec when it comes to pricing, but in terms of durability, it’s made to last. So you should get your money’s worth. It’s worth noting that operating this vape takes a little bit of a learning curve and is probably better suited to experienced users. As soon as you get to know the MV1 however, you’ll realize it’s well worth the wait.
